Memorial slideshows or visual tributes, sometimes including brief video clips, have become a popular way to honour a deceased and to illustrate the kind of life they lived. When produced by family or friends these can serve as a practical way to help cope with loss.

A typical presentation runs between 4 and 8 minutes, with a slides changing every 5 seconds or so, (i.e. about 12 slides a minute). Appropriate music can be a powerful accompaniment to a visual presentation but so also can silence. Should you produce your own video, please upload it here so that it can be broadcast at high quality via the LiveStream simultaneously as it is shown during the service. There is no additional charge to include your own slideshow-video in the live stream.

Follow each step to enable us to produce a quality memorial slideshow-video:

1. Ensure the church or venue has the facilities (screens, computer & projector) to show a presentation. Sometimes a venue will engage staff solely to manage this. If not Studio20 LiveStream offers a service to supply, set-up and operate a portable system or you can provide your own.

2. Choose the pictures or short video clip you want to use. Scan the photographs at 300dpi and format them in 16:9 (landscape) before saving them as high quality JPEGs*. You may also need to zoom and crop. Upload the files to us using the link below. Select one photo, your 'favourite', so that a holding slide can be made. This will be displayed at the beginning or end of the presentation. (*We accept most common picture formats except PDFs).

3. Should you require the photographs or clips to be shown in a specific order, say from earliest to latest, then you will need to change the file name of each photo to include a number starting at 1. The numbering represents the order they will be shown. If there is no numbering in the filename then the images will be displayed in a random order.

4. Determine the length of your presentation. Remember, allow about 5 seconds per photograph. Select some accompanying music of appropriate length if desired, bearing in mind that there is much power in silence too.

5. Provide us with internet links (YouTube or similar) to the music you have selected.

6. We will produce a slideshow video sequence (in MP4 format) and email you a link to preview and download it. Save the slideshow video to a USB drive which can be played at the memorial service.

7. If we are conducting the LiveStream please let us know who will operate the presentation. Sometimes this is done by a family member, other times by the funeral director. If you use our projector/screen hire, we can do this remotely from the rear of the venue. Depending on the system used at the venue, i.e. if it has a HDMI input, we may be able to start and stop the presentation remotely. Whatever way you decide to go, it is important to test that everything is working and allow enough time to correct problems should they arise. The slideshow-video will be streamed simultaneously as it shown at the service.
